Godaddy
Editor's Review
Godaddy is the world’s largest domain registrar and one of the largest web hosting companies established in 1997. They are more popular for their domain registration but are also known for their shared web hosting, SSL Certificates, VPS and dedicated servers. They are a Better Business Bureau accredited company and is the world’s No. 1 ICANN-accredited domain name registrar for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ and .US domain extensions.
SPACE AND BANDWIDTH
Godaddy provides unlimited bandwidth on all their hosting plans though the disk space they offer varies as per the different plans.
PRICING
Godaddy shared web hosting prices are very reasonable and they start from as low as $2.99 per month with unlimited bandwidth in their economy plan. They provide 100 email accounts and 10 MySQL databases in their economy plan. Their prices are surely affordable though it is beneficial only for long term contracts compared to monthly payments.
RELIABILITY AND UPTIME
Godaddy is the world’s largest domain registrar and also give our commercials on TV especially the SuperBowl commercials. They are an established and stable company and hence, reliable for sure. They give a 99.9% uptime guarantee though many of their customers have varying opinions about the validity of the uptime guarantee.
SUPPORT
Godaddy provides 24 hour email, phone and web support. Their support for domain registration is very good and is perhaps the best amongst any domain registrars. But some of their customers often complain about the support provided in regards to web hosting.
OVERALL
Godaddy is one of the biggest and most established domain registrars and web hosting companies around. They have their own servers and own datacenters for all their hosting solutions and have many satisfied customers too in their shared hosting plans. However, we would recommend their domain registration service a lot more than their web hosting plans.
